Where is therapy provided?Therapy may be provided in-home, in daycare/school, or in our beautiful new clinic in Brentwood, TN!

What is the process to get started at Braxy?Fill out our consultation form here. We will reach out to answer any questions you have and then send you intake paperwork if you would like to move forward with therapy. Complete paperwork. Begin therapy!

Do you have immediate openings for new clients?Yes, we have immediate openings and are accepting new clients! However, if we are unable to find an SLP in your area and/or that fits your schedule, we can put you on our waitlist or refer you to other trusted providers in the area.

Do you accept insurance? What if I don't have BCBS?We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) but do not accept HMO. We also accept the Katie Beckett waiver and have private pay options available. We can provide a superbill upon request for out-of-network reimbursement. We also have a prompt pay discount available for private pay - families who would like to enroll must keep a card on file and agree to autopay. Email billing@braxyspeechtherapy.com for specific insurance or billing questions.

How long are therapy sessions? Evaluations?Therapy sessions are typically 30-45 min long depending on the needs of the child. Evaluations are 1 hour and may take additional sessions to complete. Following an evaluation, parents are provided with a detailed written report with the evaluation results, recommendations, and a diagnosis if applicable.

If I have an evaluation from early intervention or another clinic do you have to do another one?If a child has had an evaluation within the last year from EI, school, or other clinic, we can accept it as long as it is a good reflection of their current skills. We can also do our own evaluation if you'd like second opinion or for us to “dig deeper”.

Do you diagnose autism?A SLP does not solely diagnose autism unless they are working with a team of professionals. However, we would be happy to discuss any autism characteristics that you may be noticing and refer you to a professional that can diagnose autism.

How many words should my child be saying by 12 months? 2 years?A child should be saying one word utterances by one year of age. By two years old, children should be combining two words (e.g. more milk).

Do you offer OT, PT, ABA, or counseling?Not at this time, but we may in the future.

Do you offer free screenings?Yes! We are happy to offer a quick free screening before jumping into a full evaluation to help save you time and money. We also offer free meet and greet sessions for new clients to make sure we are a good fit prior to starting therapy.
